Last weekend we took a group of 7 to a new spot, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest in the Great Smokey Mountains. We hiked ~ 5.5 miles up a steep and difficult trail called the Naked Ground Trail to our campsite on the top of the ridge that overlooks the old-growth forest below. After a long night of shenanigans, we woke up to finish the loop. With 6 miles left, we went on a not-so-maintained trail which included parkouring over fallen trees, bulldozing through briars, and steep unstable decline. She was a hard hike, but the feeling of completing it made it worth it. A great trip with MWW once again.
