Our
Mission.

We remain dedicated to creating a community, open to all U of SC students, that's centered around a shared love and appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. Our goal is to give U of SC's students the opportunity to develop meaningful connections with nature, themselves, and their peers.

Land Acknowledgement

We are gathered on the unceded land of the East Cherokee & Congaree peoples.

I ask you to join me in acknowledging these communities, their elders past and present, and future generations.

The Carolina Mountaineering & Whitewater Club also acknowledges that the land on which we pursue our mission was founded upon exclusions and erasures of many Indigenous peoples, including those on whose land this institution is located.

This acknowledgement demonstrates a commitment to beginning the process of working to dismantle the ongoing legacies of settler colonialism.
